Privacy Policy

SermonPush ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. It applies to all users of the SermonPush website, app, and service (the "Service"), operated by Kirk Brown Creative LLC.

1. Information We Collect

Account information you provide:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Church name and default speaker name
  • Password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text)
  • Voice tone and content preferences

Content you upload:

  • Sermon audio files
  • Manually pasted sermon transcripts or notes
  • Edits you make to generated content

Usage information:

  • Login timestamps and frequency
  • Number of sermons processed
  • Pages visited and features used (via Google Analytics, anonymized)
  • IP address (used for rate limiting and spam prevention; not stored long-term)

Payment information: We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details. All payment information is handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service (process sermons, generate content, deliver output)
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To improve the Service and develop new features
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, security alerts)
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • To comply with legal obligations

We will only send marketing or promotional emails if you opt in. You can opt out at any time.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

To deliver the Service, we share specific data with the following processors. Each is contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we authorize.

  • Stripe (payments): receives billing and customer info to process payments. Stripe privacy policy
  • AssemblyAI (transcription): receives sermon audio to generate transcripts. Per AssemblyAI's data handling policy, your audio is not used to train their models. AssemblyAI privacy policy
  • Anthropic (AI content generation): receives sermon transcripts to generate derivative content via the Claude API. Per Anthropic's commercial terms, API content is not used to train their models. Anthropic privacy policy
  • Google Analytics (analytics): receives anonymized usage data. Google privacy policy
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (bot defense): processes a token at signup to verify you are human. Cloudflare privacy policy
  • SiteGround (email delivery): handles outgoing email notifications. SiteGround privacy policy
  • DigitalOcean (hosting): hosts our servers and databases. DigitalOcean privacy policy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Authentication: a session cookie to keep you logged in
  • Analytics: Google Analytics uses cookies to measure aggregate site usage (you can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on)
  • Security: Cloudflare Turnstile uses a token to verify human signups

5. Data Retention

We retain your sermons, generated content, and account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or your account is terminated, your data will be deleted from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

You can delete individual sermons from your dashboard at any time. Once deleted, the audio file, transcript, and generated content are removed from our systems.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of any marketing communications

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sermonpush.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete, the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a CCPA request, email hello@sermonpush.com.

8. EU and UK Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your information are: (a) performance of a contract (to provide the Service); (b) legitimate interest (to improve the Service and prevent fraud); and (c) consent (for marketing communications, where applicable). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing; the right to data portability; and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact hello@sermonpush.com and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data using:

  • HTTPS encryption in transit
  • Salted password hashing
  • Database access controls and regular backups
  • Bot defense (honeypot, disposable-email blocklist, IP rate limiting, Cloudflare Turnstile)

No system is 100% secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

SermonPush is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The "Effective date" at the top will always reflect the most recent revision.
